NIMEP Symposium on Yemen: Civil Conflict and Intervention

The Tufts New Initiative for Middle East Peace (NIMEP) is hosting its first symposium of the year on the current conflict in Yemen, possible intervention, and the country's humanitarian crisis. Whether you are well informed about the current status of Yemen or have no prior knowledge of the conflict, we invite you to join them. Boston Israeli-Palestinian Alternative Memorial Day

Please join J Street U at Tufts in marking the annual Israeli-Palestinian memorial day ceremony, hosted each year in Tel Aviv by Combatants for Peace and the Parents Circle and this year marked by their supporters in cities worldwide. For the past twelve years, this ceremony has offered an opportunity to move beyond nationalistic narratives of loss traditionally offered on Israel's memorial day and focus on sharing the deep pain and suffering that conflict and occupation inflict on all involved.

Foundations of US Policy in the Middle East with Irene Gendzier

Interested in the foundations of U.S. policy in the Middle East? Join the Tufts New Initiative for Middle East Peace in a discussion with Irene Gendzier, professor emerita in the Department of Political Science at Boston University. She will discuss some of the major findings of her book: Dying to Forget, Oil, Power, Palestine and the Foundations of US Policy in the Middle East (Columbia U Press, 2015, 2016), that deal with the foundations of US policy in the events surrounding the struggle over Palestine and the emergence of the state of Israel.

Arab-American Immigration Stories with Tufts Arabic Professors

Join the Tufts New Initiative for Middle East Peace and the Arabic Department to hear Tufts Arabic professors speak about their own experiences with immigration and adjusting to different cultures. Given the current national climate, NIMEP hopes to foster a sense of understanding of this important issue for the Tufts community.
