Lee Wolosky is a Partner at Jenner & Block. A former US Ambassador and seasoned litigator, Mr. Wolosky has extensive experience in representing clients facing multi-dimensional crises involving litigation, the government and the media. He is a well-known legal strategist who helps clients resolve existential, high-profile challenges. Mr. Wolosky has served under the last three US presidents in national security positions. As special envoy for the Guantanámo Closure from July 2015 to January 2017, he served as chief US diplomat implementing President Obama's efforts to close the Guantanámo Bay detention camp. In 2016, President Obama accorded him the personal rank of ambassador. Under Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush, he served as director of Transnational Threats on the National Security Council at the White House. He has testified personally before Congress on numerous occasions and is a life member of the Council on Foreign Relations. In his private practice, Mr. Wolosky has represented plaintiffs and defendants in multibillion-dollar litigation, including in complex multi-jurisdictional disputes. He currently serves as the monitor of a tier-one global financial institution and represents a key witness in the 2020 impeachment proceedings of the President and related matters. He has litigated precedent-setting cases related to national security matters and foreign sovereign immunity. His clients have included prominent CEOs, political figures, governments and media figures. He regularly represents clients in connection with governmental investigations and sanctions matters, including those arising under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and the President's IEEPA authorities, and in Congressional and national security-related investigations.
