Voices from the Field

Voices from the Field brings midcareer Tufts and IGL alumni back to campus during the annual EPIIC Symposium to engage in closed-door discussions and advise undergraduates. The sessions allow alumni to exchange field experience, generate best-practice models, and discuss the future of their field. Previous “Voices” have come from the fields of nation building, complex humanitarian emergencies, human rights, UN peacekeeping, refugee assistance, preventative diplomacy, conflict resolution, and development assistance.

This year’s Voices program, supported by the Carnegie Corporation of New York, focused on US foreign policy in the Middle East and North Africa. Last year, in conjunction with the EPIIC Symposium on Global Health and Security, the Voices discussed the ethical implications of aid, cultural contexts, economies of health and the politicization of aid, partnerships, and assessment of work. To see what transpired during past Voices programs, see "Voices from the Field Bios" below.
