Ramin Arani (A’92)


Ramin Arani is a portfolio manager for Fidelity Investments, the largest mutual fund company in the United States, the No. 1 provider of workplace retirement savings plans and a leading online brokerage firm.  He manages Fidelity Puritan Fund.  Mr. Arani joined Fidelity’s equity research group in 1992 covering defense electronics companies.  He subsequently followed real estate investment trusts through 1996.  From 1999 to 2000, Mr. Arani covered the pharmaceutical sector and managed Fidelity Select Health Care Portfolio and Fidelity Advisor Health Care Fund.  He followed the retail sector and managed Fidelity Select Retailing Portfolio from 1997 to 1999.  Mr. Arani managed Fidelity Trend Fund from June 2000 until January 2007. He managed the equity portion of Fidelity Advisor Asset Allocation Fund from August 2005 until July 2006.  He was responsible for Fidelity Advisor Global Equity Fund from October 2005 until December 2005 and the equity portion of Fidelity Asset Manager:  Aggressive from October 2005 until July 2006.  Mr. Arani began co-managing Fidelity Puritan Fund in February 2007 and became lead manager of the fund in February 2008.  Prior to joining Fidelity, Mr. Arani was a summer intern in 1991 at Josephthal & Co., a national brokerage house, where he conducted broad-based fundamental company research and international pension fund research.  In 1990, Mr. Arani interned with ABC News Nightline in Washington.  Born in 1970, Mr. Arani received a bachelor of arts degree in international relations from Tufts University in 1992.  In 1994, 1996 and 1998 he received Institutional Investor “Best of the Buyside” awards for his research work
