Steve Yu (’13)

Steve Yu is a member of the class of 2013.  He is studying International Relations with a concentration in international security.  He has served on the planning boards for FIELDEX and the National Security and Civil Liberties Program.  He spent the summer working for the Peacekeeping and Stability Operations Institute at the U.S. Army War College conducting research on the foundations and evolution of peacekeeping, stability operations, and counterinsurgency doctrine.

Peter Segall (’14)

Peter Segall is a member is a member of the Class of 2014 who grew up in New Rochelle, New York, just a short train ride from the city itself. He is planning on majoring in International Relations and possibly Arabic. He has explored those interests by doing research on nuclear proliferation in India and Pakistan and studying Arabic in Jordan. He has also always been interested in civil-military relations and explores that interest at Tufts through ALLIES.

Ezra Dunkle- Polier (’13)

Ezra has been a member of ALLIES for only one year, but it has been an incredibly exciting one. Becoming involved not only in weekly article discussions, but FieldEx and the China Symposium as well, was definitely a great decision. His favorite aspect of ALLIES is that, contrary to popular belief, not everyone is an IR or Political Science junkie. We have science and math people who like discussing civ-mil issues as well. He hopes that his junior and senior years as a member of ALLIES can continue to be as fun and engaging as last year has been.

Joshua Prince ('14)
Joshua hails from Minneapolis, MN the hippest town in America. Joshua is studying Mechanical Engineering and does NROTC (Navy Reserve Officer Training Corps) throughout the school year at MIT. During the summer he embarks on cruises to add to his professional development. After college he will be an Ensign in the United States Navy and serve for at least five years. He enjoys going to ALLIES because he is interested to hear what civilians think and understand about the missions and roles of the US Military.

Jon Garbose (’13)
Jon is a member of the class of 2013 from outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is considering majoring in History or Political Science. Jon has always been interested in civil-military relations and the military in general and felt that ALLIES would be a fantastic place for him to learn more about each. The military has always had a profound effect on American society and Jon is interested in learning more about this and educating his fellow students at Tufts about civil-military relations. Although a new member, Jon is eager to have a big role in ALLIES in the future.

Seth Teleky ('13)

Seth Teleky is a member of the class of 2013 majoring in Political Science and History. He is particularly interested in the process of state formation and the relationship between the government and private sector, as well as military- civilian affairs. His interest in international issues stems from several years as a high school debater, where he learned just enough to realize that structured arguing is often not the most productive means of resolving a dispute. When not concentrating on solving the world’s problems, he enjoys playing organized sports for Tufts (including crew, fencing, and Quidditch so far), debating, helping manage the Tufts Daily, and is an active member of Tufts ALLIES. He lives in New York City.
