IGL Special Events home > events > special events During the course of the academic school year the Institute for Global Leadership creates and enacts many events that transcend its traditional annual international symposia and its Inquiry Simulation. The Institute annually presents scores of individual events where distinguished guests lecture, debate and discuss issues and concerns, germane to the Institute's ongoing themes of redefining security and the probing of strengths and stresses of sovereignty. It also creates and presents professional workshops, public and private "track - two" diplomacy forums, concerts, simulations, film series, citizen hearings, reconciliation forums, focus groups, teach-ins, mock hearings, poetry readings, book signings, poster sessions, even athletic competitions. These special events provide students, who are instrumental in the preparatory research and organization of these initiatives, with unusual opportunities for even greater access to people and information, and depth of learning and immersion into specific fields of study. 2006-07 Special Events: Neuroethics and Homeland Security (pdf) >> |
