Professor Almedom and recent Boston University PhD's Dr. Alfredo Burlando and Dr. Melissa Graboyes will be presenting their perspectives on health and development in Africa in a panel discussion chaired by Professor Adil Najam, Director of the Pardee Center for the Study of the Longer-range Future, Boston University. 

Professor Almedom is a panelist on "Language and Society" moderated by Dr. Mark Auslander (Brandeis University) at the inaugural conference of the African Languages in the Disciplines (ALD) organized by Harvard University's African Language Program.

The title of Dr. Almedom's talk is  "Let us listen to one another in Tigrinya: The underpinning of agreements."

Water: Systems, Science and Society - Workshop on Integrated Water Resource Management

Astier Almedom and Ayron Strauch made presentations to the Chinese delegation and participated on the first day of this Workshop. John Parker also attended.

Astier Almedom is invited to co-chair a seminar on "Building Trust: Development Cooperation" at the European Forum, Alpbach Conference, Austria.

Astier Almedom is invited to give one of three keynotes with Alessandro Gretter and Ian Soane at the 15th International Symposium on Society and Resource Management in Viennna, Austria.
