The plague of terrorism in MENA region often exploits natural resources to gain power and profit, and is sometimes caused by shortage of natural recources due to climate changes. By gaining control over prized resources they establish legitimacy in the region. Interestingly, despite all the foreign aid to occupied cities and foreign military intervention, terror groups continue to find ways to keep this chain of illicit resource trade going, so that they are able to fund continuous regional instability. How and why can they achieve this? Who is helping them? What are the measures that can be taken to end this vicious cycle?
